Host, Mary Richardson conducted interviews amid the elegant and historical surroundings of the Commandant’s House at Charlestown Navy Yard, with NESF President, Arthur E. Flathers, General Manager of the SS NOBSKA Restoration, Jim Campbell, and SS NOBSKA’s last Chief Engineer, Joe Dawicki. Together, they presented the romantic history of NOBSKA and the steamship days of yore, without losing sight of the resulting impact on society and commerce that was so significant to our nation’s development. Viewers are also informed about the important hull work that has been accomplished and the work (and monies) needed to complete the restoration project. The Chronicle production crew, headed by Jim Thompson, shot supporting footage of NOBSKA in the Navy Yard, where she temporarily resides, in the drydock adjacent to the USS CONSTITUTION.
